Christina Aguilera showed off her new son Max in People recently and the mag paid out a reported $2 million for the first, exclusive shots.

The issue is expected to sell 1.3 million copies, which sounds like alot, however, the magazine's average weekly sales is 1.4 million copies. Well that bites. Apparently People isn't concerned and doesn't think of the underwhelming response as a loss.
An insider said, "They probably do it to keep someone else from getting their hands on it and to preserve their reputation that they always get the best on weddings and babies."
Regardless of "sales," her son is a sweetie!
