Diablo Cody has won the award for Best First Screenplay for "Juno" at the Film Independent Spirit Awards taking place in Santa Monica today. Cody is also up for an Oscar for Best Screenplay at tomorrow's Academy Awards.
"This is the coolest award in the coolest category. There is nothing like writing a first screenplay," Cody said.
Cody wrote her first book, Candy Girl, at the age of 24 while working as a stripper to help support her 5-year old stepdaughter and then-husband Jonny Hunt.
