Without a doubt one of the things keeping you up late at night is wondering "Who do the FameCrawler bloggers think will win big at the Academy Awards?" (Of course, that along with, "Who will Jamie Lynn take to Lamaze class?)
This must be your lucky day, because here are our completely unsolicited opinions (Sorry, can't help you out with the Jamie Lynn thing):
Sweatpantsmom:
Best Actress: Laura Linney (I love her. Ellen Page was great in Juno,
but has no 'body of work.' That there is Academy-speak for "She ain't been in
nuthin' else.")
Best Supporting Actress: Ruby Dee (First time nominated. She's 83, for chrissakes - just give it to her already.)
Best Actor: George Clooney (He's hot. And I still watch ER, hoping for him to make a surprise cameo.)
Best Supporting Actor: Hal Holbrook (See Ruby Dee, above)
Best Picture: Juno (Juno Juno Juno. Has anyone even seen the other movies?)
Whit:
Best Actress: I didn't see any of them, so I'll go with whoever looks the hottest.
Best Supporting Actress: See above.
Best Actor: Daniel Day Lewis
Best Supporting Actor: That kid from There Will Be Blood. Oh, he wasn't nominated. Um, how about that rat from Ratatouille?
Best Picture: There Will Be Blood
Best Host: Jon Stewart (Lifetime Achievement to Billy Crystal)
Her Bad Mother:
Best Actress: Prediction: Julie Christie; Wish: Ellen Page
Best Supporting Actress: Prediction: Cate Blanchett (but will be happy if she or Tilda Swinton or that little Irish chick wins it)
Best Actor: Prediction: Daniel Day Lewis; Wish: Viggo (Johnny's hot, but Sweeney Todd? Nope. Viggo's hot AND deserving for that penis-baring knife fight)
Best Supporting Actor: Prediction/Wish: Javier Bardem
Best Picture: Toss-up: No Country For Old Men or There Will Be Blood. Can't call this one.
Karen:
Best Actress: Ellen Page because she is a Canucklehead like me.
Best Supporting Actress: Tilda Swinton because if I could have a celebs life it would be hers and Johnny Depp would be my boy toy. (See below.) Although the step-mom in Juno should have been nominated.
Best Actor: Johnny Depp - because he is my back-up husband and deserves it.
Best Supporting Actor: Phillip Seymour Hoffman because I'm a big fan of his work and he rocks and that's all you need to know.
Best Picture: Juno, hands down has to win because I'm a Mom and I said so.
Sassy Smith:
Best Actress: Julie Christie
Best Supporting Actress: Ruby Dee
Best Actor: Daniel Day Lewis (totally want Johnny Depp to win but whatever..lol)
Best Supporting Actor: Javier Bardem
Best Picture: No Country For Old Men
