Britney Spears has reportedly been asked to testify on behalf of Sam Lutfi, her former "manager/friend" in his continuing quest to "free" Brit from her dad's control.

Lutfi is believed to be behind lawyer Jon Eardley's attempts to push Britney's case to the federal court - in the hopes that the higher court would overrule Jamie Spears' control over his daughter's assets and any decisions on her behalf.  However, that attempt was unsuccessful, so now Sam is preparing to present evidence proving that all the allegations against him are false and that the restraining order filed to keep him away from Spears is ridiculous.  The court hearing takes place on March 17 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

He's hoping that by calling Britney Spears to testify, she will prove his innocence.  He told a friend, "I am going to call Britney to the stand so she can tell the world how I was helping her.  I am innocent.  I am Britney's friend and would never hurt her."  No, just drug her.

A source close to Sam said, "[Sam thinks] Britney feels fit enough to make her own decisions but is overruled by her father."

Lutfi's mouthpiece Michael Sands said, "Sam is a good guy who does not agree with this restraining order.  He will fight it all the way."

Of course he will - his moneybag has been taken away from him.  Hey Sam, I hear Britney's almost broke, perhaps you should find another source of income - say like- GET A JOB.
