I know: this is the most heinous rumor ever, but still. It's a story, and it's gotta be explored.
Some gossipnets are speculating that Nicole Kidman is not actually pregnant, but faking gestation while a surrogate does the real work.
LaineyGossip, for one, is relishing the rumors:
Bet your Botox these were NOT staged… for a change. Hee. And when
Granny Freeze Nicole Kidman wakes up this morning to find these rare
UNSANCTIONED images taken by Flynet
of her released worldwide depicting an alarmingly receding hairline and
a bump that never seems to grow, suffice to say the wheels will be put
in motion for a set of more flattering photos. Perhaps a few of her
rubbing a bigger belly, complete with full maquillage, and a doting
husband kissing her forehead. Give it less than a week. Trust.
Many people in Hollywood are buzzing that there’s a surrogate. That
she’s not really pregnant but that she will “deliver” in 6 months or so
by a woman hired to carry her baby while Freeze wears a prosthetic.Do you love it, or do you LOVE it?
I'll say it again: HEINOUS RUMOR. But let's review:
1) Suspiciously tiny - or absent - bump? Check. She's not really looking any less skeletal than usual, is she? One would expect that a super-skinny preggo like Nic would show really early. I mean, look at Angie. Barely out of the conception stage and she already looks like she's swallowed a basketball. (Nic, it must be said, *does* look a little thick around the middle, but definitely not bumpy. Or at least not as bumpy as one would expect.)
2) Intense workouts that are about as well-advised as booze-ups, given history of miscarriage? Check. Girlfriend is sweatin' hard in the photos posted at Flynet, so that had to have been some workout. But shouldn't a pregnant Nic be more super-careful about her physical activity, if she has a tendency to miscarry? Just asking.
3) Nasty rumors about drinking? Check. Her rep issued a strongly-worded denial, but still.
None of this necessarily adds up to a Handmaid's Tale, but it is suspicious. I'll take her at her word for now, but I'll be watching that bump closely, fer shurr.
(No comment on the receding hairline. You can take that up with Lainey or Flynet.)
