So. That Heidi Montag/Britney Spears duet? You know, the one that would be incontrovertible evidence of the coming apocalypse, if it were actually a bona fide duet between Tinseltown's least interesting wannabe popwhore and Britney Spears? Well, it may not be a bona duet, so you can all put your binoculars down and stop watching for the Four Horsemen. Apparently, little Miss Montag and her gentleman friend-slash-producer Spencer Pratt (so perfect, that name) used Britney's vocals without her consent. Which is to say, they stole her voice, which, if you ask me, is pure evil. Poor Britney can't even hang on to her kids - now she has fight to keep custody of her voice? Not cool.
MSNBC is saying that Britney was unaware that the song - which, again, features her vocals alongside Montag's - even existed
until the single made its debut on Ryan Seacrest's "On Air" morning
radio show. Access Hollywood has, apparently, reached out to Montag's camp for comment on the duet drama and is awaiting a response.
Shouldn't we have all figured this out, like, two minutes after that song hit the Internets? I mean, we're talking about Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt here. Britney's a batshit crazy trainwreck, to be sure, but isn't it far more likely that she did in fact run off to Mexico to get married to and impregnated by a greasy paparazzo than it is that she actually walked into a recording studio with two wannabe D-listers? For seriously?
Unless, of course, she was drugged at the time. Maybe Sam Lufti's behind all this?
UPDATE: Both Britney and Heidi deny involvement in faked track - read more HERE.
