‘American Idol’ Carly Smithson Pregnant?
I couldn’t pay attention to the performances on last night’s American Idol. Why? Because I was too busy trying to get a glimpse of contestant Carly Smithson’s stomach to see if she looked pregnant. Rumor is that the 24-year-old Idol finalist is expecting a child.
Smithson is married so it wouldn’t be a big scandal, except that there’s never been a pregnant contestant in the top ten. I’m not sure if there’s ever been a pregnant contestant, period.
Which brings me to my next question: Are they even allowed to have sex once they’ve passed the sacred doors of the American Idol enclave? I mean, with anyone besides Paula, that is.

Jamie, American Idol is BOTH a singing competition and a popularity contest. I won’t listen to or buy your music if I don’t like you, regardless of how well you sing. And I’ll stay on my high horse because I’m the only one who pitched the pregnancy rumor to the media instead of sitting on my fat ass at home doing nothing but watch tv. You are lame. PS- I voted for Sanjaya last year because everyone else sucked and the show needed some new kind of entertaining factor to it. The only good contestant from AI has been Carrie Underwood. All the other winners suck, including Kelly Clarkson.
Time to get off of your high horse. YOU weren’t the one and only rumor starter. I don’t go online or watch the entertainment shows to get the latest gossip, and even I thought she might be pregnant until last night. She has been wearing baggier than normal clothes and flowy tops that disguise her belly. She has obviously gained some weight from the time we first saw her until now and the fact that she’s married and her age it’s just logical to think that she might be pregnant. Wether or not she is really shouldn’t matter. It’s no controversy for a married woman whose 24 to have a baby. It would be so nice if this was just a SINGING competition instead of a popularity contest. We all remember Sanjaya beating out so many worthy contestants.
I started the rumor as an experiment to see, first, how easy it is to start rumors and spread gossip in Hollywood, and second, to prove to the public that you can’t believe everything you read and hear in the media, and third, to play a harmless prank on tabloid media and the American Idol fanatics in general. Who’s the stupid one now?
she is not pregnant who ever stared the rumor is a freak and is trying to look cool and get attention. But Im watching American Idol and she annocment that she is not pregnant so who ever made that rumor up is a stupid head! Who ever you are that made the rumor up, you are stupid and please put your brain back in your head!
Doesn’t she already have an album out on her maiden name? If so I call ringer. Anyways if she is pregnant I am sure they will find a way to use it to boost ratings.
