Brooke Burke Finally Names Her Son!

Posted by Sassy Smith

Brooke Burke, 35, and fiance David Charvet, 36, welcomed their son almost a month ago - but couldn't agree on a name.  Well hold on now, because they finally did!

Brooke wrote on her website:

You heard it here first!  We have finally settled on a name.  We waited our whole lives for our son, and couldn't find the perfect fit.  Poor guy! Now it's official. Shaya Charvet. We played with so many different names, and both loved Shaya the most. It means God's gift in Hebrew.  David came up with a middle name, Braven, which I really like.  I want to give him part of my name too, so I am thinking about double Bs in the middle like my initials, Braven-Burke.

He is the last Charvet to carry on David's family name.  He is also the first boy in David's family, the little brother of three princesses, and my youngest.  Ya think he is gonna be spoiled?!?! We haven't agreed on the middle name yet, but for all those who have been asking, Shaya Charvet it is!

And there you have it, they finally named that boy!  I'm sure Shaya will be one spoiled little dude -  he's got three sisters to fuss over him - Neriah, 7 ½, Sierra Sky, 5 ½, and Heaven Rain, 14 months.  Lucky guy!

It sounds like a cheap wine you buy in South Atlanta.  "Ah yeah, man.  I wanna buy a pack of blunts, some rolling papers and teh screw top Shaya Charvet".  Is the Ch pronounced like the Sh or like in cheese?  Total girls name.  Poor kid.  10 bucks says when he is 12 he will make everyone call him Shay so they dont think he is a girl.

Cassie - You are 100% right on! Why-oh-WHY do celebs feel that their kids' names need to be sooooo unique!? Like having parents who look like those two isn't unique enough, poor lil' Shaya will constantly be correcting people on the spelling, pronunciation and gender of his name, not to mention why all his sisters were named after strippers. Seriously.

Ladies, we knew that BB was gonna pick something silly -- it's her trademark.  Girl doesn't have a brain in her head.  She had to continue the stripper names for the son she's ALWAYS WANTED!!!

Actually, Shaya is a traditional Hebrew name. They are Jewish, I'm pretty sure. Its an alternate spelling of Shia, like  Shia LaBeouf. Many Hebrew names end in vowels, which can make them sound "feminine" to many people's ears. My son has a Hebrew name, my grandfather's name, and it infuriates me when people ask if I "made it up" or assume its a girl's name..
