Actress Kate Hudson is mom to Ryder Russell, 4, and she's a strict parent - who knew?  The Hollywood starlet is happy to be a strict mom - she says her son is the perfect child.  Wow - perfect?

Why is she so determined to strongly discipline her boy?  She says because her famous mom Goldie Hawn let her go wild as a kid.  Kate says, "When I had Ryder, suddenly there were a lot of rules.  I'm much stricter about things like manners than I thought I'd be.  My mom wasn't strict at all.

"He [Ryder] had a couple of tantrums.  He had a couple and I would just stare at him and wait.  He would realise I wasn't doing anything - unaware I'm trying desperately to remain calm inside - and he would stop.  It worked."

That's it?  That's all there is to having a perfect child?  I'm on it!  Gotta go stare at my kids, be back later.
