Indiana Jones has got it all wrong. Harrison Ford is calling girlfriend Calista Flockhart the Best Mother in the World. Obvioiusly he doesn't realize I gave myself that title years ago, and he'll have to wrestle this tiara and scepter out of my cold dead hands before I relinquish my title.
In a recent interview, Ford talks about his role as parent to Flockhart's 7-year-old adopted son Liam. "She's brought a child back into my home," Ford says of his companion of six years. "My youngest, other than Liam, is 17. It's a wonderful opportunity to be part of a child's growing up, which is always an endless springtime. You see the blossoming and the growing and the nurturing and the payoff."
Asked what kind of mother Flockhart is, Ford replied, "The best in the world. She's a mother by choice – she adopted Liam before we met, as a single parent, which is an awesome responsibility to take. She's devoted herself to Liam and has done a really wonderful job raising him. I'm happy to now have a part of the job."
Oh, alright - so she's awesome. I guess I could be talked into sharing my title. But she ain't gettin' my tiara.
