Miley & Daddy Pics - Creepy Or Artistic?

Posted by Sassy Smith

The Miley Cyrus "photo scandal" has taken on a life of it's own.  Here are the rest of the photos, decide for yourself - if they're creepy or just artistic photos of a dad and his daughter.  There are others too of just Miley, more of Miley and Billy Ray and also, one of Miley's younger sister.

Tons of photos after the jump

While I totally disagree with the "naked under the sheet" photo of Miley, the rest of them - fine.  So she's laying on her dad - it's not sexual, and I peronally, as a mom, don't see anything wrong with the other pics.  I hope Miley and her parents have a closer relationship because of all this - hopefully it helps Billy Ray and Tish remember that show business is a BUSINESS and that their 15-year-old needs continuous guidance throughout her young career.

This chick loves herself too much.  Inappropriate photos for her age, in my opinion.

She is too big to be laying on his lap. The little girl looks normal.  Destiny Hope looks like a dollar pole dancer aiming for a lap dance.  Her pub bones are hanging out of those rednecky low riders that went out of style 5 yeas ago.  I feel creepy seeing her laying across his lap with her head so near his thingy.  It is gross and they knew it when they did it.  She looks slutty in every photo.

It's the sultry facial expressions that make it look so wrong.

RE: Photo #1 above...

I'm no prude...not by a long shot. But, that's not an appropriate "father/daughter" pose...it looks more like an "intimate lovers" pose...

it think its sad that everything nowadays is taken out of context. its  a father and her daughter who are taking a picture together. and come on, her head is too close to his "thingy?" puh-lease!!! she is 15!! still a child. this is why our kids are growing up too fast is because everything is over-sexualized. they're supposed to be some kind of rock stars (loosely), but i do think there could have been a more wholesome approach to the photo shoot.

Sad that a parent would allow or take part is such a thing, She is made up to look older than her age, reminds me of the sick child pron that floats around is is also called art. There is nothing artistic in these shots they are degrading and insulting not only to her but the children who look up to an try and emulate her in action and deed. Poor parental choices...

Most of the photos aren't so bad, but I wouldn't allow our 14/15 year old daughter to pose with her father like that, nor would HE allow it!!

And the one with the sheet over her, umm, Nope, don't think so...and WHY so much make up?? She's a child.

As far as pics of her in her bra, my daughter took some of herself with and some friends, but they had their bra overtop of their shirts..they were acting silly..and they had underware over their pants and hats on their heads..those are silly poses...things like this are not..

Creepy.  Yes 15 is "still a kid."  Babies and little kids sit on dad's lap.  Teenagers sit on their boyfriends' laps.  When you're five, a lap is a comfortable safe place.  When you're 15 a lap is an intimate, safe-sex place.  15 is WAY different from 5.  15 - breasts, menstruation, etc.  I agree it's the bedroom eyes looks that are the worst.

First off, the person looking through the camera was the photographer. People should keep in mind that neither the girl nor her father could tell how things looked. They couldn't see the other's expressions either. The photographer chose to take the pictures in the fleeting moment their expressions were what she wanted. They didn't choose the poses. This is a famous photographer and even big stars feel excited to work with her. Chances are, they simply trusted her and did whatever they were told. My guess is he was probably asked to pose with the younger daughter in his lap first, and if so it explains why it wouldn't seem iffy to either of them if they asked him to pose with Miley leaning across him next. She is not sitting in his lap and I am sure they would have refused to do that. They couldn't tell what this shot looked like. It appears they had to hold the pose a long time. Her face is really masklike, which is how people often look when trying not to move. He's staring in a different direction and also looking blank. Compare that to the one where they are laughing and looking more natural. The photos are mostly disturbing I think because her father isn't white haired or ugly. If he was, I have a feeling nobody would have thought it looked as bad. I think the photographer knew exactly how it looked. But they had no way of seeing. I am not disappointed in Miley, and not a fan of hers. I am very disappointed in Annie Leibovitz's recent work, like the infamous "King Kong" photo:www.afterellen.com/.../vogue-controversy-with-annie-leibovitz-cover

You can't tell me those two celebs had any clue how that looked. All of them have been used. I have done photography and cinematography, and degrading your subjects is unprofessional. Ask yourself why the photographer had Miley put her hand on her own leg right in front of her father's arm. He was told to hold her hand so it would look closer to her chest than it is, too. I am neutral about both of them, and used to admire Leibovitz. Not anymore.

At 15, a girl should not be sprawled out over her dad's crotch. Yuck. The bedroom eyes, mussed hair only make it worse.

And what about the motorcycle? How is that supposed to enhance the image of a father and daughter, not two lovers.

Gross. Gross. Gross.

I don't want to admit that those father/daughter poses made me feel creepy and sick to my stomach, but they did.

And my mind continues to want to make excuses, but come on!..no getting around it...innappropriate and f'n creepy.

Only in America, with puritanical hang-ups about sex, would these photos cause such a stir or even rise to the level of news coverage. Relatively speaking, these photos are pretty tame and anyone who has issues with Miley's age in relation to these shots should step outside into the fresh air and realize that girls her age are doing and wearing stuff that is far more sexually suggestive than just a few shots of her and her father.

This whole thing is just a media-manufactured story and it's really, really stupid of us to be spending so much time thinking about it.

I'm a dad, and I have a 25 year old daughter, whose lays back like that on me. Its a dad and daughter moment together, no more no less.

As people we need to stop looking at the bad of something and look at the good. There family and they love each other, as family should.
