I don't know. I mean, I *personally* wouldn't take any chances with my kid's life - you know, like, say, by throwing them on speeding all-terrain motorized vehicles without safety gear, or leaving a little pile of sleeping pills in the playroom - but maybe that's just me.
It's not Kate Moss, apparently.
She was spotted zooming around the Cotswolds the other day on a quad bike (ATV) with her five-year old daughter, Lila Grace, perched on the back. Without any kind of safety helmet. Which, you know, maybe not the best call? Those things flip over all the time, and kids fall off of them, and what if you hit a cow? Seriously? I've lived in the country. It happens.
Experts agree: A spokesman for the Royal Society for the
Prevention of Accidents said: 'Thousands suffer injuries each in year
in quad bike accidents. It's usually through lack of training or lack
of protective clothing. Quad bikes should only be used for the
number of people that they are designed for otherwise they may be
liable to tip over. The health and safety executive would recommend
that people wear helmets. They have expressed concern in the past
over the number of children particularly who ride without wearing one.
They are at risk from serious head injuries.'
So. There you have it. Kate Moss, former supermodel and druggie-rock-star moll, exercises poor judgment. SHOCKER.
