Miley Makes Public Appearance; Keeps Shirt On

Posted by HerBadMother

Miley Cyrus made a public appearance this weekend, her first since that little incident involving some photographs at some minor magazine. And by all accounts, it was mutual love-in between Miley and her fans, who may or may not have had the permission of their parents to shout adoring things at their somewhat tainted idol.

From People.com:

A week after her controversial Vanity Fair portrait was revealed, Miley Cyrus rocked the stage – and thanked her fans – at the Disney Channel Games concert Saturday night.

"I hope you had an awesome time," Cyrus told the crowd after performing her set. "I saw a sign back there that said, 'Miley, I'm praying for you.' I could not be more appreciative. Thank you guys for all your support. Without you, none of this would be possible. I love every one of you and I could not be more appreciative. God bless you."

I'd really love to think that that MILEY I'M PRAYING FOR YOU sign had a second line in smaller type that read BECUZ U NEED GODS HALP U TRAMP. But that's just me being perverse. I'm glad that she's back on the proverbial horse and invoking God and love and shit and generally getting back to Miley bizniss. Because, you know, our little girls need role models! And if they can't find one in a fallen Disney angel who seeks redemption in concert dollars, well, then, where can they find it?

Well you're a great role model too, calling 15 year old girls tramps.  That's super productive.  Do you have a daughter?  Know any young girls?  I hope they never make any mistakes that you view as trampy, that'd be an unfortunate moniker to earn from someone they look up to.  And please don't use the "my daughter/friend/niece/whatever would never" it's lame and not a sound argument.

I didn't call her a tramp. I said that a *perverse* part of me would love to think that the 'praying for you' sign had something to that effect under all the godliness. Which, yes, probably makes me a bad role model of some kind, but at least I'm an honest one.

(Also, did I say anything about 'my daughter/niece whatever would never?' Nope. Read before you bitch.)
