Are your kids Batman fans?  Are they crazy about The Joker character?  Better get in line if you want a Heath Ledger "The Joker" doll - they're selling like hotcakes!

Toy stores all over New York have line-ups, people waiting to pick up their very own plastic action figure of Heath Ledger as The Joker.  The toys are selling out like crazy.

Bob Friedland, a spokesman for Toys 'R' us said, "We are getting these products, all of the Dark Knight action figures, on a regular basis."  However, he may be trying to down play the sellout.  Stores are apparently running out quickly.  An employee for Toys 'R' Us said, "There are none left in the warehouse, either.  You will be waiting a while if you want one."

Many other NY stores are still waiting for shipments.  The doll retails for $9.99 but there have been some sold on Ebay at much higher prices.  One doll reportedly sold for $55 (as a set with an other doll).

I wonder how strange it will be for Heath's daughter Matilda when she gets older, to see a doll of her daddy?

Batman: The Dark Knight is slated for a July 18, 2008 release.
