Miley Cyrus is trying to get things back to business as usual after the Photo Scandal That Shall Not Speak Its Name, and she's already having some success: her new single, "7 Things," premiered yesterday. The song, though - which has a sound that is totally in the tradition of her dad's pop-country style - is already stirring up a little controversy of its own: it's about a failed relationship. Nick Jonas, maybe?
In the song, Miley - who, let's not forget, is just fifteen - sings about the seven things she hates about her ex boyfriend:
"You're vain, your games, you're insecure/You love me, you like her/You
make me laugh/ You make me cry." Things she likes? "Your hair, your eyes/You made me laugh…You made me love you!"
I could make some crabby, curmudgeonly comment about she's only fifteen, what can she know about love at fifteen, blah blah blah, but I won't. I bitched enough already about the Lolita photo shoot, and truth be told, this song pretty much sums up love as understood by fifteen year olds, so whatever. At least she's moving forward. Kudos for that.
