Frank Black: Here Comes Your Baby

Frank Black, aka Black Francis, aka Charles Thompson IV, aka Puff Dad... wait, not the last one, is the proud father to his 5th child.

According to a press release: Jude Oliver Francis Thompson was born to the former Pixies vocalist and his wife Violet on May 1 at 12:11PM at the Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene, OR. Jude was 20 inches long and weighed in at 6 pounds, 14 ounces. He joins big brothers and sisters Julian, Annabelle, Jack and Lucy. 

Congratulations to the whole Thompson family.  Keep rockin', Francis!

I saw the Pixies once, I think in '89. They were so boring I fell asleep!  I was totally sober too, just sat down and it was so mellow and quiet and they NEVER moved.  Like statues and a soundtrack in the back.  Half the audience left the first 30 minutes.

"Half the audience" must be a bunch of musical idiots because the Pixies are one of the biggest influences on modern indie rock.  The understated style mixes both a kick-ass guitar with unforgettable vocals.  

If you listen to any rock that's not pop, then not appreciating the Pixies is almost like not appreciating the Beatles.
