Actor Dennis Quaid testified in front of congress this week following the accidental overdose of blood thinners administered to his newborn twins in November by the staff at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He urged Congress to take a stronger federal role in dealing with pharmaceutical companies- something that the FDA has argued against.
Quaid argued that not doing so would turn the public into "uninformed and uncompensated lab rats.
"Like many Americans, I believed that a big problem in our country was frivolous lawsuits," he added. "But now I know that the courts are often the only path to justice."
Good luck, Dennis.
