Sexy superstar Shania Twain and her husband "Mutt" Lange announced their split a few days ago. Lange issued a statement to PEOPLE, saying, it was "an unfortunate thing. It's literally just a growing apart, that's all." However, sources close to the couple say that the growing apart was more like a third person involved. How could he cheat on Shania?
An insider says that Mutt allegedly became involved with Marie Ann Thiebaud - she's the woman who managed the couple's chateau in Switzerland and was also a personal, longtime secretary. Now that's low! Says the insider, "Mutt and Marie Ann left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship."
Lange however, denies the rumor that Thiebaud is the reason for the split, saying, "It's absolutely not the reason [for the separation]." He also denies the affair ever happened. Marie Ann has not made a comment.
I hope whatever the reason for the breakup, this couple can make their separation as painless for their 6-year-old son Eja D’Angelo as is possible.
