If Willie Garson wasn't tugging on my heartstrings hard enough today, Ashley Judd just broke them.
Ashley is struggling with the decision to have children, after working as a global ambassador for the YouthAIDS organization. YouthAIDS, an education and prevention program of PSI, uses media, pop
culture, music, theatre and sports to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and
reach 600 million young people in more than 60 countries with
life-saving messages, products, services and care.
Judd says, "The fact that there are 25 million AIDS orphans makes it hard to decide
[to have kids]. The fact that 11 million children will die this year
before reaching their fifth birthdays makes it hard. We should be
providing for the ones who are here."
Heartbreaking. What's worse is the pain some children suffer in silence at the hands of UN Peacekeepers.
Our world needs to change.
