Nicole Richie has really turned her life around after having daughter Harlow. She's no longer the party-hardy girl we once knew. Sure she still goes out, but nothing like the old days. And perhaps she's finding all these new situations and circumstances difficult? Certainly, change is hard for any new mom and stress is a factor when you have a baby. There's a big dose of reality and responsibility to deal with, not to mention the crying, 8 million diapers per day and 12 million feedings. Nicole is reportedly in 'emotional turmoil' and having a mommy meltdown.
According to The National Enquirer, Nicole is having a hard time dealing with all of the changes that are taking place in her life.
An insider says, “Nicole feels like her life is in a constant state of emotional turmoil right now, and when one crying episode ends, another one seems to begin. Everything is happening so quickly that it’s almost getting to be too much for her to handle.”
Everything means, her body issues, her issues with fiance and baby daddy Joel Madden, overcoming her substance abuse, jail and her community service. Top all that with a new baby, and there is the "mommy meltdown."
A source says that, Nicole often breaks down over the smallest issue and gets upset when Joel isn't around to help out.
The friend adds, “The slightest bit of stress turns into a huge emotional ordeal. Joel is trying to be patient with Nicole even though her meltdowns often do end in arguments. But he understands she’s gone through some very serious emotional and physical changes — she got pregnant, found sobriety, moved in with Joel and became a mother — all in a very short time, and that’s a lot for anyone to handle.”
Geez, she just gave birth 6 months ago, of course she's still adjusting to the changes that have taken place. Becoming a mom is hard work!
Reportedly, Nicole and Joel, despite their rough patches with new parenthood and finding themselves again as a couple, are still going strong.
The source continues, “Joel is still just as head-over-heels in love with Nicole as he’s been from day one, and he is still planning to marry her. He just wants to make sure that she’s going to be able to put the brakes on this emotional roller coaster before they make that big leap into marriage.”
I'm sure they'll be fine - people deal with worse situations! Plus Nicole has that whole designing gig going on - you know to make babies look older! That'll keep her mind busy.
