It’s Official: Madonna’s Getting A Divorce

The rumors have been flying around for a long time, but now it seems that the story is more than just rumor: Madonna and Guy Ritchie are calling it quits, for real.

Madonna has apparently already secured a divorce lawyer – Fiona Shackleton, the lawyer who represented Paul McCartney in his divorce from Heather Mills. Guy is rumored to be taking informal legal advice from Forster’s, a London-based law firm specializing in divorce and family matters. Friends, however, say that Guy is a less-than-willing participant in the break-up: he is said to ‘still nurture the dream that the final break can be avoided’ and to be ‘a bit down in the dumps’ and hiding out at their place in the country for a bit of peace and quiet and, presumably, a good cry.

To which I say: man up, Guy. You’re going to need whatever remnant of your balls that you have left to weather any kind of break-up negotiations with Madonna. I wouldn’t want negotiate splitting a sandwich with her, let alone marital assets and custody arrangements. You’re in for a rough ride, my friend. Best start suiting up now.
