Why Did Jamie Lynn Name Her Baby Maddie?

Teen celebrity Jamie Lynn Spears and boyfriend Casey Aldridge welcomed their little girl into the world on June 19, and for awhile (during her pregnancy), it was rumored that the baby would take on a name that would include "Lynn."  Uh, thank goodness it didn't - I think that family has enough of that name!  Also rumored to be a top contender was Emma Jean.  However, we all know she chose Maddie in the end - but the question is why?

The Zoey 101 star was apparently inspired by a series of the Madeline's children's books.  An insider says, "Jamie was a huge fan of the Madeline children's books when she was a little girl and always wanted to name her daughter that."

I think it's a great choice!  Well done Jamie Lynn, well done!
