Maggie Gyllenhaal is a different breed of movie star mom.
On one hand she says that having Ramona has made her a better actress but on the other hand she says she would stay home rather than act any day. She says she realizes that motherhood "cracks you open in every way" and changes and deepens everything in your life.

Everything about it has surprised me. I do think that it’s really difficult to get me away from
[Ramona],” she said. “It’s difficult to find a script that’s good
enough for me to think, ‘Okay, I really need to do this instead of
being with my daughter.’ I think working after a baby is such a personal thing…everyone thinks differently."
