Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves welcomed their first son yesterday, July 7 and although all reports said baby and family were doing well, there was no name released. Perhaps it took them a day to pick just the right name - since "Bud" wasn't going to be an option? Anyway, the couple have finally named their baby boy....
Levi Alves McConaughey.... Matthew tells OK! how they came up with the name, "Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible. They were, in fact, two names for the same person.
"Our son was born at 6:22 pm, and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in The Bible: 'If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.'"
"Alves" is baby's middle name, which is Camila's last name. "We wanted to incorporate her family name."
Matthew & Camila also issued a statement, saying, "We welcome Levi Alves McConaughey into this wonderful life and look forward to living in it with him. In the mean time and all times, just keep livin'."
