French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has been photographed lately, looking slightly bigger - actually looking like she might be sporting a baby bump. Carla and President Nicolas Sarkozy, 53, married in February - after their romance began just the previous November and ever since, there's been much baby speculation. So is the First Lady expecting?
In a recent interview, Mrs. Bruni-Sarkozy, 40, was asked outright if she was pregnant. Her response:
“No, unfortunately not. I wonder if my stomach’s got bigger, because everyone is asking me the same question.'I’m not pregnant and I regret it because I love it when I am.'Will it happen?
"It’s difficult for me to say. It’s much more difficult at 40 than it is at 25."
Carla has a 7-year-old son from a previous relationship and Mr. Sarkozy has three sons from two previous marriages, and two step-daughters. The couple would love to have a child together, but not sure if or when it will happen.
Should she become pregnant while her husband is in office, she would be the first high profile wife of a political leader to have a child in office since Cherie Blair gave birth to son Leo in 2000, when her husband Tony Blair was Prime Minister.
Sending them luck and baby vibes!
