Heavens to Betsey, what has Ingo done?

This soap star, he's on General Hospital,  Ingo Rademacher and he and his fiancee Ehiku just welcomed a new member to their family. They had a baby boy, Peanut Kai Rademacher on Friday, July 11th.  The couple's first child weighed 7 lbs, 6 oz. and was 20 ½ inches long.  A spokesperson for the show stated that "dad, mom and baby are all great." 

Why would he name his child Peanut, does he not realize that that poor kid is going to be teased mercilessly? Ingo was raised in Germany and Australia and names that sound different to those of us in the United States are common place in those countries. Peanut is common neither here nor there.

I don't get it.
