Billie Piper's Home Birth

Posted by Sassy Smith

Actress and star of Secret Diary Of A Call Girl,  Billie Piper wants to avoid having her baby at the hospital - so she's hoping to have her first child at home!

British Piper and her husband Laurence Fox have decided they would like a home water birth.

A pal said to the Sunday Express, "Billie has been saying she doesn't want all the bright lights of a hospital and thinks a home birth in warm water would be a wonderfully calm way for her baby to come into the world."

This will be Billie and Laurence's first child.

Have you had a home birth?  Why or why not?  Personally (uh, well, I'm done having kids at this point), I could have never had a home birth, just not for me!

I would personally never give birth at home.  I experienced complications with my first delivery while at a hospital that could have never been addressed at home, even if I had transferred to a hospital.  It would not have been fast enough.  That said, I do not judge those who to want to have a home birth.  To each their own.  Just not for me.

There are a number of reasons that I would do either--like everything in life there are pros and cons to each side.  I've had two amazing births in hospital, so why would I do anything different for my #3 due in February.  My own (bratty and selfish) top 2 reasons for this are room service for 2 days and that little button that brings someone to my room to bring me juice/ice pack/darvocet.
