John Edwards, I'm guessing, might be in a bit of hot water.  It seems the former senator and presidential candidate has been busy - busy cheating on his wife Elizabeth, fathering a love child with his mistress and busy paying her off.

Rielle Hunter is the alleged mistress of Edwards (and she's the former videographer of Edward's presidental campaign) and she's apparently been receiving $15,000 a month from him to keep her from discussing their relationship or their (alleged) child.  According to The Enquirer, the money is being funneled to Hunter by a wealthy friend, who had ties with Edwards' campaign.

That's not all though!  This man is also paying John's friend and former aide, Andrew Young, to take the heat and claim that he is the father of Hunter's child.

A source told The Enquirer, "A super-rich pal - who was closely involved with the campaign finances - is helping John.  It's likely this man doesn't know all the dirty details of John's extramarital affair, but is acting out of loyalty and is not asking a lot of questions - only writing the checks."

As well, the Charlotte Observer is reporting that the 'love child' doesn't have a father listed on the birth certificate.  The certificate indicates that Frances Quinn Hunter was born on February 27 to Rielle Hunter, in Santa Barbara, California, two months after John's aide, Andrew Young claimed to be the daddy.

When asked (by the Charlotte Observer), the attorney for Hunter said, "A lot of women do that."

And when it was pointed out that Rielle revealed the identity of the father two months prior, the lawyer said, "That's a personal matter between them."

Ah huh.  Does something smell bad to you?  That's what I thought.

I'm guessing this means that Edwards (if this is all true) doesn't spend time with his child?  I suppose not, since he's covering it up.

John Edwards, thus far, has not made any public comments regarding these allegations.
