I normally think Live With Regis and Kelly co-host, Kelly Ripa, 37, is annoying, but seriously, any celebrity mom who bribes her kids like the rest of us do from time to time, is A-Okay in my book!
Kelly and husband Mark Consuelos, parents of three kids - Michael, 11, Lola, 7, and Joaquin, 5, - say that all it takes is a little Chinese food and you'll have her kiddies eating out of the palm of your hand.
"If you offer my kids free chopsticks, they will do anything. They will clean their room - they will clean your room if you say, 'I have a fortune cookie for you.'"
Kelly says that both she and Mark are very hands-on parents.
"My day is my own. It’s a great life. I want to take my kids to their things. I want to see that."
Mark does his fair share with the kids.
Says Kelly, "He's very involved. I'd say we're 50/50, more so than most couples. He's good with consistency. He has far more patience than I have. If the kids look at me and say, 'I don't want to make my bed today, help me,' I'll help them. Whereas he's like, 'That's your responsibility, your room, and you have to pick it up.'"
Does Kelly have help?
“Oh yeah, of course!” she says. “Oh my god, you need it, especially with three kids. I am amazed that my mom never had a babysitter, ever.”
She however, does not have a huge team of nannies like some celebrities.
It’s just one person pitching in every day, running errands like bringing a forgotten lunch to school. “I don’t expect anyone to do my parenting for me."
They actually sound pretty normal - as normal as a celebrity can be!
