It's been a sad summer for Christina Applegate. In July, her ex-boyfriend was found dead in his home following a drug overdose, and now the 36 year-old actress has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Last January, we reported that Christina wanted to have children "with or without a man in her life," in response to questions after her divorce.
The 36-year-old star released a statement confirming the illness through television news magazine 'Extra'.
The statement said: "Benefiting from early detection through a
doctor-ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is
following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full
recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time."
Thank goodness for that. I sure hope things look up for Christina very soon. We'd love to see her dreams for a family come true.
