Cheating John Edwards Releases A Statement

By | August 9th, 2008 at 1:04 am

Former presidential candidate and cheating husband, John Edwards has released a formal statement in regards to his affair with Rielle Hunter.  He denies that he is the father of her child.  Did you hear that?  It was the sound of my eyes rolling….

He said:

“In 2006, I made a serious error in judgment and conducted myself in a way that was disloyal to my family and to my core beliefs. I recognized my mistake and I told my wife that I had a liaison with another woman, and I asked for her forgiveness. Although I was honest in every painful detail with my family, I did not tell the public. When a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, I used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. But being 99 percent honest is no longer enough.

I was and am ashamed of my conduct and choices, and I had hoped that it would never become public. With my family, I took responsibility for my actions in 2006 and today I take full responsibility publicly. But that misconduct took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then. I am and have been willing to take any test necessary to establish the fact that I am not the father of any baby, and I am truly hopeful that a test will be done so this fact can be definitively established. I only know that the apparent father has said publicly that he is the father of the baby. I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby.

It is inadequate to say to the people who believed in me that I am sorry, as it is inadequate to say to the people who love me that I am sorry. In the course of several campaigns, I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic. If you want to beat me up

This story is not just about infidelity. It is about lying to the public, his supporters, and America at a time when he was running for president.

Also, there is the question of him hiring an unqualified “film maker” that turned out to be his mistress using campaign funds.

You haven’t heard half the story yet. Don’t expect the MSM to come clean. They spent years building this man up as a champion for the little guy when we all realize he is just a scumbag politician.

Shame on Elizabeth to “stand by her man” for political gain.

We actually sent money to John Edwards – not much, because we don’t have much. But we liked that he was the only guy talking with clarity about poverty in America. And for us and other donors, it’s a bummer knowing that his campaign took some of these donations to pay his mistress who had never made a film before simply so that they could be together.

But you’re right – this is no less distasteful than McCain’s philandering, or the whole sordid Cindy McCain story. It’s just a big ol’ disappointment, that’s all.

He obviously has already made his apologies to his wife and family and worked seriously on his issue YEARS AGO, so why does this have to be such a big deal? John McCain is married to his former mistress and nobody’s rolling their eyes about that. Why roll your eyes about the fact that Edwards says that it’s not his baby? Someone else has already claimed fatherhood. You should post Elizabeth Edwards’ comments, she’s handling it so respectably and admirably.
