Lin Miaoke is the sweet little 9-year-old girl who sang Ode to the Motherland during the Olympics opening ceremony and she instantly became a hit - only one problem - it wasn't Lin Miaoke's voice....
The 'real' voice belonged to 7-year-old Yang Peiyi but officials, at the last minute, didn't think Yang was cute enough - seriously?? Her voice was deemed the most beautiful but her looks, apparently not so much. Are they kidding?
Are Yang's parents not upset about this? Officials are basically saying that Yang's voice is good enough - it's beautiful - but that her face isn't good enough? That is wrong on so many levels!
An official was quoted as saying, "The main consideration was the national interest. The child on the screen should be flawless in image, in her internal feelings, and in her expression." Uh, so ya, nice way of saying that you think little Yang is ugly?????? NICE.
