Going For Gold-Up Next, Babies

Posted by trix

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh are going for Olympic gold again. I have been watching the Beach Volleyball portion of the Olympics and have been amazed at the level of play and how quickly it seems they are plowing through some of the competition and of course, the fact that they look awesome in those tiny little bikinis.

I was watching the other night and heard the part of their story in which the announcer talked about their desire for kids and I was enjoying the match too much to be bothered to get up and write about it, so thank you LA Times for doing that.

Both women have expressed the desire to take a little time off from tournament play to work on the next big project, getting pregnant. When asked about future plans they said, "hopefully, we'll both be pregnant. Pregnant, but with two gold medals.

Treanor said, "I don't want to throw the R-word in there, but I mean, I haven't had a kid, I don't know," May-Treanor said. "Priorities change, and it's tough what we do, traveling internationally and domestically, and if I feel like I can come back two years down the road or whatever and want to give it a go, great."

The women are well on their way to their way to a second gold medal but did say that, "the greatest accomplishment of all is having a baby,"

Here's hoping they keep on the path of winning gold medals and we'll throw some baby wishes their way.

They are technically "fit", but look stringy and sunburned to me. Or like men. You pick.

They are more fit than I. A friend of mine went to a match in Southern California and said that the girls look great on TV but up close on the beach, they are scary. Big and Scary.
