Christie Brinkley, famous supermodel, mom to three kids, many times married and divorced and yet the woman still looks fab at 54! Brinkley recently posed for New York mag and was described as having hair that "is thick and golden, her skin is tanned but only just. Her teeth are gleaming, her waist is narrow." Fifty-four ain't so bad....
Christie gives a glimpse about growing up to become one of the world's top models:
Her days in Paris:
“You have to understand. that I came to France to be so bohemian. It was all”–and here Brinkley does an elaborate Pepé Le Pew accent–”How can you mo-dell. Is so bourgeois.”
Her non-exotic looks:
“I was basically a surfer girl from California. I never looked like a model. Models were thin, and they were very sophisticated, and their poses were kind of like–hoity.”
Avoiding the world of drugs in the 80's:
“I always knew I wanted to be a mom, and I always wanted my body to be healthy for those kids. And besides, it felt disrespectful to my parents.”
On John Edwards' affair:
“Devastating. Devastating. I’ve met him, and I’ve met his lovely wife, and this is devastating news. But I don’t want to go there!”
Christie is newly single after a messy, painful divorce from Peter Cook. She has three children, Alexa Ray 22, (dad is Billy Joel), Jack Paris, 13, (dad is Richard Taubman but later adopted by Peter Cook), and Sailor Lee, 10, (dad is Peter Cook).
