Angelina Jolie's Dad Gets Weepy About Palin's Pregnancy

Posted by Sassy Smith

Sarah Palin's teenage daughter's pregnancy certainly has tongues a waggin' - even Angelina Jolie's dad, Jon Voight gets choked up about it.

Voight attended the Republican National Convention in Minnesota on Monday night and he became emotional when talking about Bristol Palin's pregnancy.

As Angelina's dad, who is a public supporter of John McCain, walked the red carpet, he was surronded by reporters and was asked about Palin.  He said of the 44-year-old Sarah, she's a "breath of fresh air," and then he brought up her 17-year-old daughter's pregnancy.

Voight said, his voice choked, "Like all families, they have their dramas."  He composed himself, perhaps thinking of his strained relationship with his own daughter, and said of the teen, "She'll get through this."

Bristol's parents said in a statement, "Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned... We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents."

The continued, saying that Bristol and "the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family."

I love how Gov. Palin family has handled this news.  too bad their children have to go through this ugly political process.  I am hoping Obama's people had nothing to do with this.

I like gov. Palin but don't care about McCain.  I like Obama but I think Biden is a sexist pig... do you see my dilemma.  why can't we have Obama/Palin ticket????

here is a good site on Sarah Palin:  www.governorpalin.blogspot.com

There isn't much of a dilemma if you actually look at their policies instead of their...family dramas/taste in music/haricut.  You don't "like" the candidate?  You're not being asked to "like" them.  You're being asked to decide who will do the job best, who lead your country in the direction you think is best.

The reason there isn't an Obama/Palin ticket is BECAUSE THEY ARE TOTALLY OPPOSITE IN THEIR VIEWS OF HOW THE USA SHOULD BE LED.  Christ, this is about more than just who you "like."

That's right Frieda, blame "Obama's people" for the fact that Bristol Palin got pregnant.  Do you really think the media would not have caught on to this?  How naive are you?

Didn't anyone hear Obama say that he still believes candidates' families are "off limits" and that if he found out anyone in his camp was spreading rumors, they would be fired???  This guy can't win for losing with some of you!

The Palins announced her pregnancy themselves because it would become obvious fairly soon.  "Obama's people" are totally irrelevant here!

And thanks Chris - I don't have to "like" a candidate so much as I agree with their ACTUAL POLICIES!  No one's asking you to order a pizza and hang out with Biden.

And since I already have my soapbox out, does anyone else wonder what the outcry/condemnation would be from the Repubs if Obama had a teen daughter and she got pregnant?  It wouldn't be all of this supportive rhetoric about choice.  Interesting to consider...
