Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson were married for six years - they share custody of their son Ryder, 4 - and divorced in 2006, and she says it's the best thing that ever happened to them.
Kate, 29, tells the October issue of Cosmo, "Look - we're still basically living together! We've figured it out. I mean, obviously, nothing's perfect, but I could never look at [our divorce] as a mistake."
She adds, "If anything, it's the best thing that ever happened to us."
Hudson previously said to W, "I married Chris, I had a baby with Chris, Chris will be in my life for the rest of my life."
She and Ryder talk to Chris all the time with iChat.
She continues, "No matter what is going on in my life, relationship-wise, Chris takes absolute precedence. It's important for Ryder to hear me say how wonderful Chris is, and how much Chris misses him."
I think it's great that the two get along - more kids would benefit if their divorces parents could think of the children first. I do think Kate might need to tone down her weird dating patterns, but she obviously is doing something right with making it work with her ex.
