French justice minister Rachida Dati is pregnant but she's refusing to name the daddy. There are, of course, rumors floating around, that she may have used a sperm donor - and does sperm donor mean it could be President Nicolas Sarkozy's child?
Some reports are saying that the 42-year-old went to Denmark to get an anonymous donor. Other sites have said it could be Sarkozy's baby - she and the President were once romantically linked - or maybe the 'donor' is former Spanish prime minister Jose-Maria Aznar. I'm thinking Sarkozy's wife, Carla Bruni, might have a problem with this. Probably Mrs. Aznar wouldn't be thrilled with the news either.
Sarkozy's reps have stayed 'mum' on the accusations, and Aznar's office have publicly denied the rumors.
There are others on the possible 'baby daddy' list: Dati's former boyfriend, Henri Proglio, Dominique Dessegne and a French TV host called Arthur.
Dati has said that her pregnancy, if it was 'consolidated,' she would be very happy - I guess meaning it was done 'clinically,' and thus she used a sperm bank?
One blogger said, "Dati likes tall blond men, and would have gone to Denmark to find a sperm bank."
Well-known French commentator, Renaud Revel, stated on his blog, that the French media know the identity of the father, but would never publish the name.
"The German of Anglo-Saxon press would have X-rayed Rachida Dati's pregnancy, to the point of producing the father's ID papers and his DNA. But the French media are kept at a distance.
"The father has been known to the newsrooms for week. But not a line, not a name, not the slightest allusion has appeared."
Oh the conspiracy of it all! Maybe it's none of our business anyway? But isn't it grand to speculate?
