Sarah Palin Affair is "Absolutely, Completely False"

Posted by Karl Erikson

The National Enquirer recently wrote a story, purporting that Sarah Palin once had an affair with one of her husband's business associates. Palin, GOP VP candidate and mother of 5, including pregnant 17-year-old daughter Bristol, just made the speech of her life at the Republican National Convention last week.

Then the rumor came out that Palin actually had the affair with the husband of her former campaign manager in Alaska. Well, they're actually the same guy. Todd Palin's business partner, Scott Richter, is the husband of Palin's old campaign manager.

And Debbie Richter, the former campaign manager herself, came out recently and said the story is "absolutely, completely false." The McCain campaign has threatened to sue the Enquirer over this story. "I can tell you this with 1000 percent certainty," Richter says. "Sarah Palin never had an affair."

Wow, 1000%. That's a lot of percents. She must be telling the truth with all those percents.

Richter is now the director of the Permanent Fund Dividend Division for Alaska. She's responsible for giving Alaskans their annual dividend checks. Yep, it's true. If you're an Alaskan, you currently get a $2,069 dividend every year.

Wow, that's a lot of percents.

Right, so Sarah Palin never cheated on her husband and I'm moving to Alaska. Any other news?

Remember that whole story she told about her OB contacted her when she was 4 months along (16-20 weeks) and told her that her baby had Downs Syndrome and that she and Todd DECIDED to keep the baby anyway? Abortion after 12 weeks is illegal in Alaska and as Governer she should have known that. So the law does not apply to her? This is a BIG LIE that she CHOSE to keep him. Can any of you Law experts out there verify this for me? If it is true it is just another HUGE whopper she has told to make herself look “like one of us”.

Alaska

Abortion Ban

AFTER 12 WEEKS

Alaska’s unconstitutional and unenforceable ban outlaws abortions performed as early as twelve weeks. Alaska Stat. § 18.16.050 (Enacted 1997).

A court held that Alaska’s ban is unconstitutional under the state constitution because the ban is “void for vagueness” and has issued a permanent injunction prohibiting its enforcement. Planned Parenthood of Alaska, Inc. v. State, No. 3AN-97 6019 CIV (Alaska Super. Ct. Mar. 13, 1998), appeal dismissed, No. S-08610 (Alaska July 17, 2000). The U.S. Supreme Court held that a similar ban that lacks an exception to protect a woman’s health and that bans more than one procedure places an undue burden on a woman’s right to choose and is unconstitutional. Stenberg v. Carhart, 530 U.S. 914 (2000).

Alaska’s unconstitutional and unenforceable ban makes the performance of any abortion procedure that falls within a broad definition a felony, unless it is necessary to preserve the life of a woman endangered by a physical disorder, illness, or injury and no other medical procedure will suffice. Alaska Stat. § 18.16.050 (Enacted 1997).

There is also a Federal Abortion Ban, which applies nationwide regardless of state law. The federal ban prohibits the performance of certain second trimester abortions and does not contain an exception for a woman’s health. In April 2007, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the ban, making it the first time since Roe v. Wade that the Court has upheld a ban on a previability abortion procedure.
