Sarah Palin was rumored to have had an affair with her husband's business partner - so did she?
The National Enquirer reported that the Governor of Alaska got frisky with her husband Todd Palin's business partner, Scott Richter. The story hit just a few hours before Palin was to address the Republican convention. Chief strategist Steve Schmidt said the rumors were "scurrilous," and said they were totally untrue. (Richter's wife has since denied the affair as well).
Schmidt said, "The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Governor Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie.
"The efforts of the media and tabloids to destroy this fine and accomplished public servant are a disgrace. The American people will reject it."
Troopergate, Babygate and now this? What else is there? I'm sure it's not true (I think?) and it's just another way to discredit Palin. I wonder if her children hear these stories? Probably not the younger ones, but the older kids might have access to such things. It must be tough being shoved into the spotlight.
