UFC middleweight champ, Evan Tanner went missing a few days ago in the California desert and sadly, the 37-year-old was found dead.
Tanner had sent a text message to a friend on Friday, saying he was out of water and requested help. A search ensued but ended abruptly yesterday when a body was found. It has been identified as that of Tanner's but the cause of death has not yet been determined.
Tanner had blogged recently, saying in part, "treasure hunting and lost gold, and my own insatiable appetite for adventure and exploration. I plan on going so deep into the desert, that any failure of my equipment could cost me my life." And unfortunately, it did.
Although Evan was single and had no children, he wrote that his adventures and challenges would all be things he would tell his future children and grandchildren.
