Brangelina - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. TomKat - Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. A wee bit of competetion between them apparently. Currently, Brad and Angie are Hollywood's "It" couple, Hollywood's "golden" couple. Tom and Katie are a close second. Who do you like better? Both couples are attractive, both have great looking kids and successful careers but Pitt might have a bit of an advantage over Cruise - he's not nuts (technical term for Scientologist). According to a Cruise family source, who told Life & Style, "It seems as though Tom's always trying to compete with Brad,and that's a difficult job."

Cruise still receives negative press over his Scientology beliefs (seriously, after he jumped on Oprah's leather couch, it all went downhill from there) and there's constant gossip *ahem* about he and Katie splitting and that their relationship is fake. Or her being a robot and he's the one pushing her buttons? Ya, I like that one.
The source said that Tom is left, "with the sense that he's not, you know, as beloved anymore. Brad has these causes - save the children, rebuild New Orleans, donate to charity - while Angelina's practically St. Angelina these days. How do you compete with that?" Uh, you don't. Duh.
"Tom has started to kid that he's past his prime, he'll turn to Katie and joke, 'It's up to you now, kid!' He'll laugh, but it's a worry, too, like he's tapping into some insecurity."
I don't see Tom Cruise as insecure (except maybe about his height, thus he wears lifts in his shoes) - he's too full of himself to be insecure. Plus he's got a young hot wife (well when she dresses young and hot and not like an aging librarian - no offense to librarians), and three beautiful kids, and he's rich. Maybe his career is in the toilet, but you can't have it all.
