What caused the plane crash that resulted in 2nd & 3rd degree burns on Travis Barker and DJ AM?
We know they jumped from the plane that was on fire, and that sadly the four others on the plane were unable to escape.
What happened?
The National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating further to determine the probable cause, but the recording from the cockpit told of a burst tire as the plane was reaching it's lift off speed of 92mph. You can also hear that attempts to get off the ground had failed, which made the plane veer off the runway, across a highway and into an embankment. The plane was on fire before impact so the investigation will likely find out exactly what happened to cause the fire.
The air traffic controllers did report seeing sparks before the plane careened off of the runway.
OH dear god, I am so sorry for the families of the victims lost and for DJ AM and Travis Barker. I hope you recover quickly and our thoughts are with you.
Now that the doctors have said that they expect a full recovery of both men, I hope Travis Barker's family will be able to tell his kids that he is okay and explain what happened to their daddy.
