Strollerderby is asking parents how they feel about letting children dress as The Joker from Batman. Obviously the idea is not a new one and has been done for years, but that was before the clown took it up a notch.
This isn't your father's Joker.
The last complete role of Heath Ledger is darker than other versions that preceded it on many levels. Ledger died during the process, which makes it somewhat creepy to begin with, but the fact that the role reached such heights- or depths as the case may be, puts The Joker in some pretty scary company. Sure, the character is fictional, but basically you're looking at Ted Bundy in a purple suit.
This won't be an issue for us as my boys haven't seen the latest Batman film (and won't for years), but even if the TV ads were to pull them in I'd have to use my power of veto on this decision. They can be something sweet and innocent, like Dracula.
