32-year-old drummer for Franz Ferdinand Paul Thomson is a dad for the second time. Wife Esther gave birth to their second son Friday. Paul lives in London. He and Esther (a DJ) also have a 2-year-old son, Georgie.
Franz Ferdinand was supposed to be headlining Friday night with The Ting Tings, but swapped places when Thomson's wife went into labor. Instead, the band did an acoustic set and announced the news to the audience.
Alex Kapranos said to the crowd, "I don't know if you've hear about Paul, our drummer - his wife went into labor. Then 20 minutes ago we heard she'd given birth to a baby boy."
Congrats, Paul and Esther. Rock on.
