Buccaneers kicker Matt Bryant and his wife Melissa have sadly, lost their three-month-old son, Matthew Tryson. It was announced by Bucs coach, Jon Gruden, that the couple's infant son had died. "We had a terrible tragedy this morning. We lost a key member of our family."
"My understanding was the young man didn't wake up this morning. It's shocking."
Debbie Carter, a sheriff's spokesperson said that Melissa had found Matthew not breathing as she was making the rounds to wake up their older children - Daniel, Jacob, Joshua, Madison and Tre - for school. Carter said that the infant's death is not believed to be suspicious.
The Bryant family has issued a statement:
“Tryson enriched our lives for the short time that he was with us and we will never forget his smile. We know Tryson’s death has deeply touched the community and we appreciate the love and prayers from our Buccaneers fans.”
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, people may make a donation to the March of Dimes in Tryson's name.
March of Dimes, 405 N Reo St., Suite 105, Tampa, FL 33609. You can call (813) 287- 2600.
