Stripper Poles For Kids!

Posted by HerBadMother

It's completely understandable if you're a bit baffled as to why a parent - celebrity or otherwise - would buy a stripper pole for their autistic child. For any child. I certainly was baffled.

Well, it turns out that Jenny McCarthy's recent purchase of a stripper pole for her son Evan was actually an alternative to a fireman's pole, which, according to Jenny, was both too big for their home and a tad too expensive. "The fireman's pole was, like, $2,000," she told Access Hollywood, "and the strip-aerobics pole was $200."

Which makes a little more sense. I can see wanting to support a child's ambitions to be a firefighter. No offense to pole-dancers, of course. Pole-dancing might be good exercise - and who doesn't want their kids to get exercise - but those tassels are a choking hazard.

I'd like to read the story that originally accompanied that photo - I'm sure I could generate a much snarkier (is that a word?) response to it.

That woman/actress was in some show in the 90s (a law show, maybe?). Anyway, her claims to fame now are teaching stripper classes and sharing how hot it's made her marriage. Yay her. Why do people share this type of stuff and why can't we escape them? Oh yeah, I need to turn off the tv and computer. That would work. Damn.
