Travis Barker was released from the Joseph M. Still Burn Center on September 29, after surviving a horrific plane crash, that killed four. He was moved to the Grossman Burn Center in Sherman Oaks, Calif, but is reportedly not happy with the conditions of his new hospital.
A friend of Travis' ex-wife Shanna Moakler, tells Life & Style, "While the skin-graft surgery [performed there] was a success, they're concerned about the level of care Travis is receiving now."
Apparently Barker is unhappy with not being able to quickly access doctors and meds. The source adds, "He felt he had to wait too long for pain medications after his surgery last week and that he hasn't been receiving quick enough access to doctors. They're looking into moving him elsewhere, but I'm not sure they will. It's a very emotional time."
As well, Travis, 32, wants Shanna to be able to stay the night and the hospital is refusing.
On a happy note, Travis himself has spoke with Us Weekly magazine and is "thankful to be alive!" That's an understatement I'm sure.
He continues, "I hate planes. My biggest fear ever is to be involved in a plane crash, so when that happened... well, I'm just thankful to be alive! I'm just grateful to be here at all."
He decided to travel by bus to the new burn unit with his dad and Shanna.
"I am doing the best I can possibly be. I'm so anxious to get out of here... I've just been in surgery after surgery. I have third-degree burns basically from my feet up to my waist and both hands. One of my hands has second-degree burns and one has third-degree burns.
"I'm trying to have a quick recovery and play the drums again and be able to hold my kids again." Barker has two children with Moakler - Landon, 5, and Alabama, 2. "I’m going nuts not being able to see them and spend time with them!”
If his recovery goes well, he will be able to go home within two weeks. He said about being in the hospital, “Oh gosh, I hope not much longer. I sit here and I read books and watch TV. I think if this surgery went well, I’ll be here for at most two weeks.”
His friend DJ AM, the other survivor of the crash was released from hospital shortly before Travis was moved. Doctors have stated that they believe both men will fully recover.
