Mark Wahlberg's son Brendan Joseph is now a month old and Mark was happy to talk about him recently on the Tonight Show. Mark was there for the birth, of course, but he happened to be silent during the whole thing. He had vocal cord damage that meant he couldn't talk for 18 days. "It was very frustrating," Mark said. "I was writing on notepads to communicate, while my son was practicing karate on me."
Mark has two other children besides Brendan: Ella Rae is 5 now, and Michael is 2. The kids are adjusting well to their new brother. "My daughter's thrilled," Mark said. "She thinks she has a live play toy." Michael, though, isn't quite as happy.
"My son is completely frustrated because he was the baby. Now he says, 'The baby has to go to Florida.' He can't say too many words, that's the only full sentence he says." Guess what else Michael can say? "Papparazzi, because I'm always saying 'Oh God, the paparazzi are following us.'"
And believe it or not, Mark wants even more kids. If it's up to him, he says his family with Rhea Durham will only grow larger. Mark is the youngest of 9 kids and he'd like to have "as many kids as mommy can handle."
Mark's new movie, "Max Payne," is opening Friday.
