Tina Fey "You Ignorant Slut"*

Posted by trix

Tina Fey, you should be ashamed of yourself. You have single handedly ruined Sarah Palin's reputation.  What, with you copying her almost word for word, you have turned half of the nation against her.
In all seriousness though, Tina Fey's impersonation of Sarah Palin can have an influence on the voters perception of Sarah Palin and turn them away. It's called the "Tina Fey" effect.
I think it's interesting how much a pop culture show can sway the public, whatever the issue.  Political scientist Jerald Podair told the New York Post: "Presidential impersonators do influence elections, and in this one, Tina Fey is well on her way to ruining Sarah Palin's political career. In a political culture that takes its cues from popular culture, a good impersonator may be worth a million votes."
Crazy, isn't it. She's so good at it though, we don't want her to stop.

Could you imagine Palins fingers on the big red button...I only shudder thinking about it!  She is her own worst enemy and doesn't need Tina Fey to make her look more stupid as I don't think that is possible!

Tina Fey is responsible for Sarah's downfall?  Is Will Ferrell responsible for W's demise?

I sure as heck hope there is a look-alike I can blame my failures on :-)

Isn't is sad what America has become?  Everyone in this nation is so miserable and hold such contempt for others that it is frightening.  I never dreamed that we would live in a society that teaches such low standards to our children.  Fey gets rich by mocking, intimidating, making fun, disgracing, of someone.  Can you even fathom what Fey tells her child, I make a living being disgusting and disgracing to other woman.  Then we seriously wonder why our children go to school and show no respect for their teachers, mentors and even parents.  America is disgusting!

You would be surprised who the people behind these blogs are. Just normal, smart people who want to stay home with their kids and raise them correctly, not leave them in the hands of someone else. As far as moderating comments, I usually only delete the ones that are personal attacks on me because, you don't know me at all.

Ummm...reality...I agreed with you, initially, I too think it's sad that people revel in seeing others torn down or in pain.  One example of this was a "reality" show that was on a few years ago "Temptation Island". This show brought couples to the island, separated them and then tempted them to cheat while filming it.  They would then edit the film to make it look like things happened (that actually didn't) to upset the significant other and try to get them to cheat in retaliation.  All this pain served up to satiate the viewers hunger for misery and discord...the show was very popular.

I also agreed with your opinion that this sort of entertainment is damaging to our youth but then you went on to say "America is disgusting"!  This is where we begin to disagree.  It's not America, it's human nature...period!

I will not try to claim that I'm above this kind of "fun" even if I'm aware that it's at someone else's expense! Hey, I enjoyed watching comedians make fun of Bill Clinton or Frank Caliendo's impersonations of George W....they're very funny :)  I think Temptation Island was waaaay "over the top" but hey, whatcha gonna do huh? It's human nature, you don't have to agree all the time.  That's just my opinion...

While it's true that this sort of behavior is sad, you can't attack others simply because you disagree with them and then begin to rant incoherently.  This will only turn people off to whatever point you were trying to make whether it was valid or not.
