Russell Crow is set to star as Robin Hood or The Sherrif in a new adaptation of the tale of the prince of thieves, but don't expect to see him in the requisite tights of previous productions.
He says that he will not wear tights in Nottingham because, "According to our research they weren't invented for another 300 years."
So it's the integrity of the time period you're going for, not that you will feel silly in them.
I think I can believe that. Russell Crow has shown over the years that he is willing to do anything for his craft.
He says, "It's one of those things we're taking our time with because you don't want to be doing Robin Hood unless you're going to be doing it really f***ing well. It's got to be the best one ever done otherwise you should do something else."
Well said, Russell, I look forward to see what you've done with the role. I am particular to Errol Flynn though, so I hope you do it justice.
